Accessibility

The studio aims for this site to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. This page says what is in place, what has not been tested, and how to reach a person if something gets in your way. It describes vicaristudio.com; the client portal is assessed separately.

What is in place

• It works without JavaScript. Every word and link is in the HTML the server sends. Reveal animations are CSS, so nothing has to run for content to appear.
• Keyboard. A skip link comes first, focus is visible on everything you can reach, the menu traps focus while it is open, Escape closes it, and focus returns to the button that opened it.
• Structure. One h1 per page, headings in order, landmarks for the header, navigation, main content and footer, and lists marked up as lists. The staffing diagram is a figure with a text alternative and reads in a sensible order.
• Motion. Under "reduce motion" every animation is off, the menu cross-fades instead of expanding, and the moving strip under the hero stops. That strip can also be paused with its own button, which is reachable by keyboard.
• Colour and contrast. Body and secondary text meet AA against their backgrounds in both themes; text over the paintings sits on a scrim, not on the painting. Colour is never the only way something is communicated.
• Themes. Light, dark and "follow my system", chosen from the header, the footer or the menu.
• Zoom and small screens. The page holds together to 360px wide and does not scroll sideways; text is set in relative units and reflows when you zoom.
• Images. The paintings are decorative and are hidden from assistive technology. Product screenshots carry a description.

What has not been tested

• Screen readers: no run has been done with VoiceOver, NVDA or JAWS.
• Browsers other than Chrome, and real phones and tablets.
• Voice control, switch access and screen magnifiers.
• No independent accessibility audit has been carried out.

Those gaps are why this page does not claim conformance. It states an aim and a current position.

Tell us when something is wrong

Write to company@vicaristudio.com with the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using. The studio will reply within five business days, say what it can fix and when, and offer another way to get what you needed in the meantime. If the studio builds something for you, accessibility is part of the acceptance criteria, not an extra.
